Cufflinks “The Pattern of Peace”

“WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and to regain faith in fundamental human rights and freedoms, in the dignity and worth of the human person….” (From the Preamble of the United Nations Charter)

Vyshyvanka, colorful embroidery pattern put onto pure linen cloth, has always been one of the most significant heart-and-soul items of Ukrainian culture and history, the symbol of Ukrainian identity. This piece of national sanctity symbolizes the highest level of wisdom and unbreakable intergenerational centuries-old ties.

The UN Armory in the very center of cufflinks represents the Unity of Nations within the walls of the Universal Forum, the main instrument of modern international diplomacy. Just as common patterns in different national symbols could be seen, the same way the UN serves as a consolidating platform, the precious alloy of nations, their different cultures, united with the only aim – to secure and strengthen the peace around the globe.

This is exactly what Ukrainian jewelers tried to personify creating cufflinks named “The Pattern of Peace”.
