Special features of the royal cufflinks

The cufflinks are double-sided. Cufflinks’ top is the exact copy of wings and skin of Supermarine Spitfire, the British WWII fighter. Having such names as “Villain” and “Spitfire”, these airplanes were impressing with their maneuverability and the speed in low heights. Making a royal gift, artisans took into account that the best British WWII fighter “Spitfire” is one of the first air planes having laminar wings and reflected this fact in gold, by having decorated the wing with heraldry of Michael of Kent.

On the back side of the cufflinks there spreads out an engraved silhouette of the best Soviet WWII fighter Yak-3 with the North American P-51 Mustang, recognized as the best warfighter at the time, flying over it at the absolute altitude. All above-mentioned planes are included to Prince’s retro squadron.

The work of the jewelers is very delicate and detailed. Shape of a clasp, screw propellers of gold seem to give the lifting force to Mustang and Spitfire, and the fighting hawks are rising again to guard the sky.
